A man charged with killing an elderly street performer on a scooter appears in court

A man charged with killing an elderly street performer with a scooter has been remanded into custody after appearing in court.

Lee Byer, 44, was arrested early Thursday morning in Southall, west London.

His tragic pensioner, Thomas O'Halloran, 87, was attacked in the streets of Greenford, West London, on Tuesday afternoon.

Byer was arrested this morning and he appeared before Willesden Magistrate's Court.

He stood on the dock in his prison-issued gray truck, the bottoms of his suit and his T-shirt, with a sweater tied around his waist.

Defendant spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, and that he was not a permanent resident.

Buyers were not murdered and was asked to file a petition on charges of possession of an offensive weapon and was detained by Vice District Judge Ross Cohen ahead of his next appearance at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.

Lee Byer watched members of the media in court and covered his face with his hands during the hearing, which lasted less than four minutes.

The judge said he will face a bail hearing at the Old Bailey next week and a plea and trial hearing in the same court on 16 September.
