Man called 'weird' by homophobic thug on bus beaten after standing up

A man who confronted homophobic thugs on a bus suffered a devastating headbutt in the face.

Mark Sheehan, 26, was on his way home to Dublin with his friend when a group of young men sitting behind them began to insult them with vulgar slurs.

When he confronted them, they kicked his headphones out of his hands and flew them across the bus.

Things escalated as he tried to leave the top deck when one of his thugs rushed in and headbutted him, traumatizing him by breaking his nose. Irish reported his mirror.

Sheehan said: I spent the next six hours in the hospital.

"A group of young men sat behind me, mocking and mocking my friends and me until I left the city.

"I used my earphones to drown them out. When I took them off to put them back in the case, I heard more insulting voices. Queer, emo freak, f**, etc.

"I turned around and told them to pretend their age. This caused one of the young men to...kick the earphones out of my hands and move them to the other side of the bus.

"We were at a stop, so I tried to find it quickly, but the whole bus kind of laughed at me while I crawled around trying to find it."
