Man charged after woman 'struck by van' in Edinburgh and rushed to hospital

A man has today been charged after a teenager was allegedly hit by a van in Edinburgh last month.

The alleged collision took place on Calder Road at around 7.35am on Thursday, November 24. Police said at the time a 19-year-old woman was struck by a white Ford Transit van.

She was then taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The male driver of the van was uninjured.

A spokesperson for the force said today: "Police in Edinburgh can confirm that a 29-year-old man has been charged in connection with a crash on Calder Road.

"The incident involving a van and a female pedestrian happened around 7.30am on Thursday, November 24, 2022. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
