A murder investigation has opened after a man was shot dead after 'two suspects escaped on an e-bike'.
The victim, in his twenties, was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body just before midnight in Liverpool.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed at the site of Lovelock Bank in downtown Toxteth in a desperate attempt to save his life.
However, he died soon after an ambulance was rushed to the hospital.
A search was launched to find his two "criminals" driving away on electric bicycles.
Both were dressed in black, according to Merseyside police.
Forensic experts are investigating the scene, and officers are going door-to-door today to gather more information.
An autopsy will be performed to formally establish the cause of death.
Chief Inspector Rooney said:
We would like to reassure you that you have been victimized, we have increased patrols in the area and are making a number of inquiries.
