Now, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of attempting to "burn" the Firm "to the ground."
Writing in the Mail Online, columnist Sarah Vine penned: "The Sussexes don’t just want to part ways with the House of Windsor, they want to burn it to the ground, and they are pursuing their aim with ruthless intent.
"What began with that Oprah interview has culminated with the trailer for the couple’s Netflix documentary, which airs on Thursday."

A source told The Mirror: "The publishers want Harry to promote Spare in the UK.

The source told the Mirror: “I genuinely think it’s going to be worse than the royals can imagine.
“I’m told that it’s going to be utterly explosive and will be very damaging.”

As part of a campaign for Scotty's Little Soldiers, a charity that helps children who lost parents in the armed forces, Prince Harry put on the iconic spider-man costume and cowl as he wished them a happy Christmas.
Donning the iconic red and blue costume, he said: "Christmas is a time where we miss our loved ones really, really badly, and that’s okay, but at the same time it can be possible to feel guilty for having fun without our parents.
"But I’m here to assure you that our parents always want us to have fun, so don’t feel guilty.
"You’re allowed to have the best time ever, especially with the Scotty’s Little Soldiers community."
He finished by saying: "So go out there, have the best time and Merry Christmas."
Are the Buckingham Palace gardens open to the public?
Buckingham Palace gardens are not always open to the public.
In the past few years, the palace opened the gardens for those visitors that also had a look around the State rooms.
This kind of tour is mainly open during summer when the weather is nicer and there is less chance of rain.
The gardens are the monarch’s private land, and for high-security reasons, only a part of the gardens is open to the public.
For around £20, you can stroll around the south of the gardens, 500 yards far from a new exit at Grosvenor Palace.
You can rest your feet for a bit in a seated area and admire the scenery of a 19th-century lake.
While walking, you’ll pass trees that were planted by members of the royal family and can also have a short chat with the gardeners keeping the area clean and flourishing.
A large marquee is erected at the end of the tour, which serves as a gift shop.

She spent half an hour with staff from The Centre on the Developing Child – which Kensington Palace described as a “friend” of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, established by the princess.
During the meeting, Kate said: “There is so much amazing work going on and we need to start sharing the learning and science and what can be done better and be improved to help children in the trajectory into adult life.”
She added: “It is frustrating because I’d like to be here for days.”

Kennedy, saying his Earthshot Prize was inspired by Kennedys audacious moonshot speech in 1962 that mobilized the nation to put astronauts on the moon. That same sense of urgency and scale is needed now to protect the environment, William said.
In the same way the space effort six decades ago created jobs, boosted economies and provided hope, so too can the solutions borne of tonights Earthshot Prize winners, William said.

Tory MP says Harry should ‘jog on and grow up’
Isle of Wight MP Bob Seely even threatened to use backbench legislation to strip Harry’s titles so he would be “Mr Windsor”.
He told TalkTV: “I don’t know what’s gone wrong in their lives, I just think they’re this pathetic, narcissistic, self-indulgent pair, they’re dreadful.
“Why on earth would we allow him to keep his titles if he hates this country and hates the monarchy?”

THE Queen tried to get Prince Harry and his father on speaking terms in her final months after Prince Charles stopped taking his phone calls begging for cash, sources tell The Sun.
Harry, 37, is said to have “bombarded” his grandmother with calls when she was put on light duties due to her worsening mobility.
Her Majesty ? who stepped back from major duties leaving Charles to take on running most affairs after the death of her husband Prince Philip ? was unable and unwilling to deal with Harry’s requests, it is claimed.
And when she asked her son and heir to the throne why he was accepting emails and not phone calls from Harry, Charles is said to have replied: “Because I am not a bank.”
An insider revealed: “The late Queen was always happy to speak with Harry but when he asked for money she said, ‘Why don’t you speak to your father?’
“Harry told her that Charles wasn’t taking his calls any more.
“Charles insisted that his son must email him instead. Members of the family, including William, had stopped speaking to Harry when they learned of his book deal, fearing what they said could end up in print.
“Harry is not as well off as people are led to believe. He was wanting money. When the Queen asked Charles what he was doing about it because she was fielding so many calls, he told her, ‘I’m not a bank’.”
