Mermaid workshop at New Cumnock swimming pool starting this weekend

The new Cumnock swimming pool transforms into a magical Moana starting this weekend. Children are given the chance to make their mermaid dreams come true.

Beginning this Saturday, a series of mermaid workshops let kids ages 8 and up put on mermaid tails and dive into the water to experience life as a sailor.

Participants make waves for 45 minutes while trying out "The Little Mermaid" in the pool, including participating in fun games.

And there's no better way to fully enjoy Maze of Mare than at Scotland's only freshwater outdoor pool. Currently open for public swimming by appointment only. Claire Smart of her A Mermaid's Tail, who plans to take the

class, said the workshop was a "full-body workout."
