The moment four passengers hit a taxi driver after 'tried to rob him'

A New York City taxi driver has died after being severely beaten by multiple assailants in an attempted robbery.

Kutin Gyimah, 52, died early last Saturday morning after being attacked by a group of five of her teens and young adults at a Rockaways playground.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) identified Gyimah as the driver of a yellow cab minivan. He was reportedly dropping off five assailants near a park when they tried to rob him. It shows Gyimah catching up with a group outside near the playground. Gima confronts the group, who turn and start beating him.

His five assailants are seen beating his Gyimah in the video. Two boys in their early twenties and three girls in their teens, police said.

Police named his one suspect, Austin Amos, 20. They believe he killed Guima when he threw it to the ground.

In the video, Amos appears to throw punches at Gima. Then the back of his head hit the ground.

A deadly fight broke out near his playground in Arburn around 6:20 am.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found Guima lying on the ground with a traumatic injury to his head. He was taken by paramedics to St. Johns Hospital in Rockaway, where he was pronounced dead.

Gyimah has been confirmed as the father of his four children, who live in the Bronx. Gyimah's children are her 8, 7, 5 and 3 years old.

A GoFundMe was set up to cover the cost of Gyimah's funeral and to help with the living and education costs of his four children.
