Man's dreaded monkeypox symptoms have left his nose rotting.
When the man first visited his GP, he had a small red spot on his nose. He thought it was a sunburn.
However, within a few days, the small wound turned necrotic. That is, the cells in the nose died and began to rot.
Photographs of the man's nose showed crusting, discoloration and deformation.
The monkeypox virusalso caused numerous scabs on his face, news.com.au reports.
The virus can initially cause a rash that resembles chickenpox.
However, the symptoms turn into hard, pus-filled blisters that then crust over.
