Mother sparks controversy after telling people to stop buying 'junk' as gifts for daughter

's mother advised people to ``stop buying junkfor [his] child,'' after's The gift has sparked controversy.

In a recent video posted on TikTok, a parent under the username @monthofsunday buysdaughterunnecessary items.

After admitting that she might sound "ungrateful," she explained what she would buy for her daughter on various occasions. When asked if I was okay, I made it clear that I was telling them not to buy anything. she needs something for her child.

But according to her mother, people still continue to give presents to their children. This is what she has done for her friend's children as well.

"People want to buy her stuff, and that's fair. Me too," she explained. "I want to buy things for other children, whether it's a friend's child or someone I know they like."

"Actually, 'What works for that child? What is it?' Is it beneficial?" she continued. "I often ask my mom, 'What do you want?' and buy a gift card or something." I further emphasized that I don't like "thoughtless gifts" and do not view this view as "ungrateful" because I do. She also said in her preface that if she couldn't afford a nice gift, she would tell her peers.

"I'm actually buying what I think." she said. "Or, if I don't have the means, I'll say, 'I'm not paying now. I'll get him or her something later.'"

Ingratitude "I'm happy with the thoughtful things you can buy for my kids. I'm happy with the crap that people try to give away just because they don't want it."

She again expressed her views in the caption, writing: If it's not thoughtful, my baby doesn't need it because I think it's right.

"The same goes for adults. I thought so much of a gift that they would eventually love over the years and give me a bath bomb," wrote one.

"It's true!!" added another. "My son's aunt bought him a tablet for Christmas, even though I had said no more than six times."

A third party wrote: "It really It makes sense, I tell my family the same thing. If you can't afford to get what I want, don't get random stuff that ends up in a charity shop.

But some people don't fully agree with @monthofsunday's video, others try to stay grateful no matter what gift their child receives.

"If I had kids , would be very grateful that someone took the time to think about the child," one person wrote. Especially at times like these." added.
