'Multiple people attacked' after machete-wielding man rampages in Liverpool park

Tonight (11 August), several people were assaulted and several injured in a Liverpool park by a man wielding a machete.

As I was walking down Priory Road, I turned a corner and saw a man with a "giant machete."

He said: "We crossed the road and he passed us. After about 20 seconds a young man with a stab wound to his arm ran towards us. Then we saw him [the knifeman] walking down the street into the house.

``I was shocked.

Police later confirmed that a man had been arrested after the incident and that there were several victims. He said: "At 5:35 p.m., we pulled into Arkless Lane after reports of a man walking down Ince Avenue toward the intersection with Priory Road, shouting at people and carrying luggage. called Machete.

"He was reported to have assaulted many people and inflicted several cuts, and the victims were taken to hospital where they were being treated." None of the victims are believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
