MARCUS MUMFORD reveals he was sexually abused when he was 6 years old and his recent single Cannibal Until I wrote, I was repressing painful memories.
He said: ``Like many people, I was sexually abused when I was a child. No, it may be an assumption of some people...but I hadn't told anyone about it in 30 years."
Front of Mumford and Sons Mann told GQ mag that he hit "rock bottom" in 2019 and struggled with alcohol and diet.
Since then he has found a therapist who has opened up about his ordeal which has greatly affected his health.

Marcus rose to prominence in 2009 as a member of his band Mumford and Sons.
That year they signed with Island Records and released the single Little Lion Man, which topped the charts.
They then released their first album, Sigh No More, and won Album of the Year in 2011.
Mumford and Sons also released three of his other albums, Babel, Wilder Mind and Delta.
The band split last year.
Marcus revealed earlier this year that he was working on his first album, Self-Titled.
He married his Carey in 2012. He married Mulligan and had two children.
