The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced that pensions for British expatriates living inCanada has stopped payments.Pensioners living there have been accused of failing to return a 'certificate of survival' form that retirees claim they did not receive in the mail.UK government department , sent a letter warning that public pension payments had been suspended and said that affected retirees "have no right to appeal the decision."

Andexser, a government pension call center worker said it had made "serious administrative errors" affected by the pension freeze.

Many of these pensioners have not received anything since June, forcing them to live for weeks without their monthly payments.

The British government claims that the forms were lost in the mail, claiming they were due to postal delays.
