The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced that pensions for British expatriates living inCanada has stopped payments.Pensioners living there have been accused of failing to return a 'certificate of survival' form that retirees claim they did not receive in the mail.UK government department , sent a letter warning that public pension payments had been suspended and said that affected retirees "have no right to appeal the decision."
There are currently about 130,000 British retirees in Canada and Canada UK Pensioners. Alliance president Ian Andexer said the current problems they face are causing "anguish" among them.
A lobby group aimed at persuading the UK government to end the "discriminatory practice of freezing pensions based on retirement residence" has cut public pensions.

Andexser, a government pension call center worker said it had made "serious administrative errors" affected by the pension freeze.
Many of these pensioners have not received anything since June, forcing them to live for weeks without their monthly payments.
After spending decades contributing to the National Insurance, the pressure group chair said he had been contacted by many who said they were now in arrears.
He said: "The anger is palpable, real and justified.

Mr Andexser wrote to the UK government , states that the pensioner "absolutely did not receive the form."
A 'certificate of life' is a letter from the DWP confirming that an expatriate British national can pay a public pension.

The British government claims that the forms were lost in the mail, claiming they were due to postal delays.
