Edinburgh City Councilman suspected of being attacked while distributing local newsletter, pensioner under police investigation.
Amid allegations that he was grabbed by the throat at Almond Ward at 11:10 a.m. today, Council's Kevin Lang said he was "very upset."
The Liberal Democratsgroup his leader is "extremely shaken" by the alleged incident.
A 65-year-old man was arrested by police in connection with the incident.
A Scottish Police spokesman said:
"A 65-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and an investigation is ongoing."
