Plans have been submitted a new car dealership in Motherwell.
The new dealership building with rearrangement of site including ancillary display bays, parking, access and car wash/valeting following the demolition of the existing buildings on the site of the former Taggart’s showroom in Windmillhill Street.
The proposals have been submitted to North Lanarkshire Council planners on behalf of Pendragon PLC, the second largest motor retailer in the United Kingdom.

It operates the Evans Halshaw, Stratstone, brands of Quickco, Car Store used car supermarkets in the UK.
The plans are available to view on the North Lanarkshire Council website.
However, one member of the public has already voiced concerns on the applications.
The comments on the council website stated: “As the planning team will be more than familiar, local residents have previously raised numerous concerns about the access from Dalziel Drive back onto Windmill Street, especially during peak traffic times at an already significantly congested key area.
“Whilst the repurposing of the current land is most likely to be welcomed by many local residents as per the planning submissions outlined, the increased traffic congestion onto and from Dalziel Drive with large vehicles, will remain an ongoing issue and concern.
“The traffic management issue in this area needs to be continually and carefully scrutinised by NLC planning as it is especially pertinent in the context of the already significant volume of traffic with the local primary school, local secondary school and now hundreds of residential properties at Heron View, Kingfisher Court, Lapwing and Gadwall Crescents whose only access in and out is currently down Dalziel Drive and exactly at this key pinch point where the transporter and lorry access for this development is being proposed.”
