Police: Pennsylvania man tried to buy stolen body

Pennsylvania man accused of corpse abuse, stolen goods after police alleged he tried to buy stolen human remains fromArkansas women could be resold on Facebook.

A spokesperson for the Arkansas Medical College in Little Rock confirmed that the remains will be donated to her UAMS facility. UAMS spokeswoman Leslie Taylor said it was instead stolen from the Arkansas Central Morgue in Little Rock and sold by a female mortuary employee, adding that a federal investigation was open.

"We honor those who donate their bodies and are appalled that such a thing can happen," Taylor said.

Morgue officials hung up on reporters seeking comment on Thursday.

FBI Little Rock spokesman Connor Hagan said the agency was aware of the Pennsylvania case but "does not comment on ongoing investigations." As of Thursday, no charges had been filed against the Arkansas woman.
