Residents can no longer park outside their homes after the city council pulled a yellow line overnight

A fuming resident accused the local council ofnot being able to parkcars with double yellow lines outside their homes.

Building manager Kevin McFarlane, 58, says at Turnhouse in Edinburgh on her road she has lived for 15 years and always parks outside.

Neighbors were not consulted and unable to complain about the sudden change that occurred as people were at work earlier this week,Edinburgh Live

He said: It must have happened between 8:30am and 12:30pm.

Where are the cars from now? I wonder if I should park. There was no consultation from Edinburgh District Council as to whether this was going on or if it would occur. of families have two cars and some have driveways, but not all of us do.

Unimpressed Derek Smith adds:

"All homeowners should have been informed of the proposed changes and given the opportunity to challenge the changes before the law was changed."

"Were you surprised that the Council didn't? And surprisingly, the City Council didn't allow residents to park where the curbs hadn't fallen."

56} Edinburgh City Council Transport and Environment Chair Scott Arthur said of the change:

"This type of change requires a traffic control order, and residents can view and comment on the plan as part of facilitating the order.

"Turnhouse Road's order has not yet been pushed forward, and we will be in touch with the developer regarding changes made and steps to remedy the situation."
