A 22-year-old man named by police as an "interested person" was arrested by authorities in a deadly shooting attack in Parada on July 4. ..
Officials said Mr. Kurimo was detained near Lake Forest on the outskirts of Chicago, about six miles north of where the Independence Day parade was attacked.
At a brief press conference on Monday evening, officials said Mr. Krimo was found by a North Chicago police officer who was about to initiate a traffic outage.
Later, Mr. Kurimo fled and led the officer to a short chase before stopping at Lake Forest, Illinois.
He is detained without incident and taken to the Highland Park Police Station.
When asked, authorities said he was calling him an "interested person" while investigating and connecting him to the scene.
