Royal Mint coin bearing the Queen's signature goes on sale for £2,865

Queen is set to display her signature on the Royal Mint coin for the first time.

Her 96-year-old monarch, who celebrated her platinum Jubilee this year, sees her signature on her new £5 denomination coin collection. The

collection is set to highlight her anniversary and honors the Queen's commitment to Commonwealth, patronage and philanthropy. The

collection consists of three of her coin designs. Onecoin focuses on the Queen's awards and honors. Another emphasizes the monarch's work as a charity or patron. The third celebrates Commonwealth.

The collection is available for purchase from the Royal Mint website. Prices range from £13 for what is called the Brilliant Uncirculated Coin to £2,865 for her gold-proof version.

Nicola Howell, Chief Commercial Officer of the Royal Mint, said:

"To celebrate Her Majesty's incredible reign, we are pleased to present, for the first time, a unique collection featuring her signature on all three coins.

"As the Official Maker of British Coins, we are proud to mint each coin of Her Majesty's reign. This special collection honors her commitment to the Commonwealth, patronage and philanthropy."

This coin collection was designed by Irish artist and illustrator PJ Lynch. A signature as a symbol of her personal commitment to others.

He said of his design: She frequently shakes hands - it's how she welcomes and communicates with people she meets.

I have come to see it as a national instrument as well as her personal promise and commitment.”
