Second person charged over 'murder bid' on Scots street after 'man run down by car'

A second person has been charged in connection with an alleged murder bid after a man was reportedly run down by a car on a street in Clydebank.

The incident took place on Graham Avenue on Tuesday, March 15 when the individual was allegedly knocked down by a white Toyota C-HR, which was seen driving off in the direction of Kilbowie Road at around 6.30pm.

The 31-year-old victim suffered minor injuries as a result. A 30-year-old man appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, November 23 after being arrested and charged in relation.

Now, officers have confirmed that following further enquiries, a 25-year-old woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged. The suspect is due to appear at the same court on Friday, December 2.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A second person has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder at Graham Avenue in Clydebank on Tuesday, 15 March, 2022.

"A 25-year-old woman is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Friday, 2 December.

"A 30-year-old man has previously been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He appeared at the same court on Wednesday, 23 November. Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing."
