Pop idol rival Gareth Gates pays moving tribute to fellow Darius Campbell Danesh who died at age 41 .
The 38-year-old singer shared her grief over the tragic death of her companion, saying she was "like an older brother." Darius and Gareth battled on Pop Idol in his 2002 career leap.
Gareth wrote on Instagram: Brother; thank you for always taking care of me.
"I will miss Chat. He is one of the most beautiful, intelligent and kind souls I have It was the soul that lit the room... Goodbye my friend. Forever in My Heart x"
