Spymasters want school-age snoopers to join them after just two GCSEs in hand

I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE

SPYMASTERS are looking for school-age snoopers to nab organised criminals and terrorists — and they need only two GCSEs.

Bosses at GCHQ want first-rate problem-solvers to join them straight from school and as soon as they turn 18.

They are eager to attract a new generation of spooks so applicants for the £31,000-a-year roles are required to have just basic maths and English qualifications.

The data analysts will be based in Cheltenham or Manchester and work on info taken from mobile phones and computers.

GCHQ, headed by Sir Jeremy Fleming, says in its ad that the baby-faced recruits will help keep Britain safe from organised gangs, terrorists and cyber crooks.

It says: “We’re looking for people who enjoy making sense of complex information and solving puzzles.

"You’ll need resilience and perseverance.”

But a grade C in GCSE English and maths is the only academic requirement.

The ad goes on: “You can apply at the age of 17 years, if successful you will not be offered a start date prior to your 18th birthday.”
