  • Strictly bosses in crisis as fears of COVID outbreak hit show

Following last week's Blackpool Special, Strictly celeb  Kym Marsh was struck with a positive COVID test.

Now, show bosses are said to be fearful that the virus could work its way through the cast and crew.

A source said it was hoped that “normal service can resume” next week.

The source added: “Obviously it’s a real blow to have Kym knocked out this week, and then the crew members started falling sick too.

“The bosses have been praying all week no one else tests positive.

“While the celebrities and dancers are the main focus, losing members of the production crew also has the potential to cause huge problems.

“Strictly runs as a well-oiled machine, but is able to do that because of the crew, who have to be on their A-game for pretty much the whole series.”

  • Helen receives mixed reviews from judges

Helen Skelton closed this week’s Strictly Come Dancing live show with a samba to Eso Beso by Emma Bunton.

  • Ellie & Johannes only scored 25 points last night

Ellie and Johannes only walked away with 25 points, after Craig Revel-Horwood and Shirley Ballas in particular judged their routine severely.

Craig only awarded them a harsh five points, and told the pair: "It lacked punch, it lacked precision, the footwork was messy... You went wrong down here as well got off on the wrong foot or something. In all it was lacklustre, I'm afraid."

The comment earned a hilariously sarcastic thumbs up from Ellie, while Johannes looked disappointed.

"I love the theme. I thought the narrative was good. I could see that you were enjoying it," Shirley added in an attempt to mix the good with the bad. "But for me, the technique missed completely, it looked quite heavy and a little bit flat footed.

"When it got towards the end, you started to slip your standing foot and it started to get a little bit lighter but there is no mistaking your personality is exquisite. But at week check 10, I want a little bit of both if I can."

Motsi Mabuse was far more positive, though also said the Ted Lasso came across a bit heavy-footed, and told Ellie: "I have two sections for you. I have a performance which I feel is getting better, and then I have a technical aspect where I think the drive, we need a bit of pendulum and suspension in the leg so it's lighter, and that's the base of the jive and that was missing a bit. So it made it a little bit tiny, heavy.

"But all in all, you can have a swing Jive or a high jump. You had the taste of the jive, which was nice to see."
