Strictly Come Dancing fans beg bosses for major change after first couple is booted off the show

STRICTLY Come Dancing fans are begging bosses to change the current format of the show.

Viewers have complained that the Sunday night results episode is "too long" and think it should be scrapped.

Most fans are now wise to the fact that the pre-recorded show is filmed straight after Saturday night's main instalment, and they feel it just "drags out" the competition.

Taking to Twitter, one Strictly viewer moaned: "How much unnecessary padding filler has the #Strictly results show got! Utter ott!!! Couldn't watch it live just too long drawn out!!!!!"

Another added: "This show is way too long, just give the results and move on too much faffing."

A third then chimed in: "It’s time for a results show on the Saturday night and just get it bloody over with."

On Sunday night, Loose Women star Kaye Adams and her Strictly partner Kai Widdrington were the first couple of the series to be sent home.

They had found themselves in the dance off along with 80s popstar Matt Goss and his pro Nadiya Bychkova.

Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all voted to save Matt, meaning Kaye was shown the door.

Head Judge Shirley Ballas said she would have saved Kaye had she been given the deciding vote.

On Sunday morning, hours before the results show aired, the current filming format of the show came under fire after a BBC star dropped a major spoiler.

Gabby Logan was hosting this year's live coverage of the London Marathon when she let slip that Tyler West and his partner Dianne Buswell were through to next week.

Radio DJ Tyler was chatting to Gabby before he took part in the 26.2 mile run when she said: "As a massive Strictly fan, what's the next dance?

"Can we get a little sneak preview."

Hesitating at the question, Dianne said: "We need to see if we get through first."

Tyler added: "I'm loving every second of it."

Realising her blunder, Gabby responded: "Oh course! We'll find out tonight...I wonder if you do."

Meanwhile, Strictly fans were also left upset and vowed to switch off after the results were leaked online hours before Sunday night's episode.

Strictly Come Dancing continues at 6.30pm, BBC1, Saturday October 8
