It wasn't clear when the recount would end on Thursday.
The recount was requested by Cisneros, a 29-year-old immigration lawyer who has been trying to leave the 9th South Texas Congressman for the second time over the years. She lost 4 percent points in 2020 with national support from the party's progressive leaders, including Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.
Queller states that he will take the lead in Texas' 28th Parliamentary District. The area isHispanicand extends to the southern border with Mexico. He has supported the party for years on issues such as abortion and gun rights, but has maintained the support of Congressional Democratic leaders, including Speaker of the HouseNancy Pelosi.
