A girl died Monday morning after an explosion at the Thornton Heathhouse, and her three others were taken to hospital.

A video of a scene from Galpin's Road shows where the girl was demolished to the ground.

Bricks, mortar and other debris can be seen strewn throughout the property's front road and backyard.

About 100 residents were evacuated after the street was blocked after the explosion at around 7:00 am.

Residents said they reported smelling gas about two weeks before the explosion. Others said they had recently seen engineers digging holes in the area while they were at work. Stated. The London Fire Service said it was investigating.

Locals are demanding answers as to how the explosion occurred.

Some were upset and raised their voices as they were told they could not return to their homes and workers could not turn off the gas.

He said he was angered by the lack of gas company representatives at the briefing to answer questions.

Gas supplier Southern Gus Networks said, "We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the tragically lost child and those injured."

A spokesperson added: "We would like to reassure everyone that our engineers are working closely with emergency services to determine the cause of the explosion."
