Two women 'raped', one 'severely injured', police arrest 25-year-old man

Two women were allegedly raped and one was "severely injured" as police arrested a 25-year-old man.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have reported rape and assault in the Cheetham Hill area following reports from two women, one elderly. A man has been arrested on suspicion of 20's and 40's.

The young woman reported that shortly after 11:00 pm on Tuesday, she was approached by an unknown man on the Cheetham Hill Road and she was raped.

At around 4:30 am on Thursday, a woman in her 40s was also allegedly approached and raped by a stranger.

She was assaulted and suffered serious injuries to her face.

One victim requires medical attention and both are receiving professional assistance.

GMP Lieutenant Tim Berry said: It's a daily activity to keep people safe while the investigation goes on.
