Shipping of 100,000 new orders will not resume until September, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) told his Metro.co.uk in a statement.
At current levels of demand, the UK is likely to run out of jabs in about 10 to 20 days, said Claire Dewsnap, president of the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV.
"The number of people who needed vaccination was lower than we saw in clinics, and the demand was thought to be high," she said.
A total of 5,206 cases were reported worldwide, according to the latest figures available on 25 and 31 July.
The UK had 2,859 very likely confirmed cases as of last Thursday.
But last week the UKHSA said the number of cases in the country had "plateaued".
Global stocks of the smallpox vaccine used to combat monkeypox are limited due to historically low prevalence outside of countries where the virus has been endemic for many years.
Dr Mary Ramsay, Director of Clinical Programs at UKHSA said:
"To date, about 50,000 have been received, allowing the NHS to distribute them nationwide.
"Vaccines are available to individuals at high risk of coming into contact with monkeypox and continue at a pace that provides protection and helps contain the current epidemic.
" Among those at highest risk of exposure, the thousands of vaccines administered to date by the NHS should have a significant impact on transmission of the virus."
