On the official Royal Family Instagram page it was revealed that a memorial coin for the late Queen Elizabeth II will be released on Monday. The King's portrait is set to appear on a 50p coin and a special £5 coin commemorating the Queen.

The Firm's Instagram page revealed that His Majesty's portrait has been created by sculptor Martin Jennings and will face to the left to follow tradition.

It was also announced that the King's effigy will start to appear on coins in general circulation in the coming months.

They said:"The King’s effigy has been created by sculptor Martin Jennings, and has been personally approved by His Majesty.

"In keeping with tradition, The King’s portrait faces to the left, the opposite direction to Queen Elizabeth II.
