West Ham have signed Thilo Kehler from Paris Saint-Germain for £13m.
The German player signed a four-year contract with the team led by David Moyes.
Koehler, 25, is on his sixth summer deal for West Ham and has stepped up his defense after Issa Diop moved to Fulham last week.
The Hammers have been particularly keen to strengthen their backs after losing fellow rookie Nayef Aguerd to a serious ankle injury last month.
East Upon joining his Londoners, Keeler said on his official website: He's excited to play in the Premier League.
"When I talked to the manager, he saw how I fit in with the club.
"My biggest goal right now is to join the team and become a member of the group. Enjoy playing for West Ham.”
Boss David Moyes added:
"He's a talented player who can play in many defensive positions, adding strength and depth to the current options."
