A woman was killed by a truck near theLivingston football stadium early Sunday morning.
Police were called to Alderstone Road at approximately 2:20 am after receiving reports of the accident.
Emergency services attended the incident, but sadly a 28-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police and forensic officers remain at the site of Alderstone Road, where the forensic tent was erected.
A local witness said he heard screams in the early morning and claimed that two men fled the scene.
The woman, who asked not to reveal her name, said: I looked outside again this morning and saw police and a blue tent.
I went out last night with a torch to find my way around the stadium.”
A Scottish Police spokesperson said:
"Ambulance services were called and a 28-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A 47-year-old man was arrested."
