Woman shocked after stranger broke into garden and stole water during hosepipe ban

A woman was shocked to see a stranger break into her garden and steal water from her hose.

Residents of Buckinghamshire brazenly locked their garden gates after seeing the ordeal unfold during the recent heatwave. I warned others to keep an eye out for thieves.

Posting on the community of Stokechurch, a village in south-west Buckinghamshire near High Wycombe Facebook she said a brave man filled some water containers from a hosepipe. I explained that I saw you there.

Writing on a Facebook group, as other locals were alarmed, the woman said: Make sure the gates are fully locked.

``The faucet will turn off and I won't do it again.''

The woman said, ``I have to nail it down or lock it all up like a fort. He added that he was "disgusted". Knox".
