  • Players in the tunnel, noise builds

As both teams line up to walk out onto the pitch, the noise levels have been turned up to fever-pitch.

Both sets of fans are making themselves heard and giving their teams the reception they deserve.

We are moments away from what could be a classic.

  • Cometh the moment, cometh the man

Wales fans know that they do not have the depth of quality that England have to draw on in this tournament.

What they do have though, is team spirit, and a certain Gareth Bale.

The Dragons' talisman needs to be at his best tonight to give Rob Page's side any chance of pulling off an upset.

  • Inside the ground - pre match analysis

SunSport's Tom Barclay reports from Al Rayyan:

RIGHT then, here we go. England's final group game and a tasty one against noisy neighbours Wales.

Luke Shaw admitted this week that watching the Welsh celebrate the Three Lions' humiliating exit to Iceland at Euro 2016 was "not nice".

So it will be interesting to see if Gareth Southgate's side are more up for this one as a result.

Shaw has kept his place but Southgate has made four changes, bringing in Kyle Walker, Jordan Henderson, Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford.

Foden is the man everyone wanted but, if we're honest, the gifted playmaker has struggled to replicate his sparkling form for Manchester City during his 19 England caps.

Tonight would be a great time to buck that trend by helping dump out Gareth Bale and Co and setting up a winnable last-16 clash against Senegal.

  • Southgate spends time in Egypt

After the game against the USA, England manager Gareth Southgate seemed to be in denial as he questioned whether his team were in fact booed by fans at the end of the game.

The Lions boss cannot deny that much more will be needed from his side tonight, where a win would confirm England's place in the last 16 as group winners.

A draw would also be good enough for the 1966 champions to progress.

  • Tension builds in Ahmad bin Ali Stadium

As we edge closer and closer to kick off, the atmosphere is building along with the tension.

Confidence in your team ebbs away as the nerves of being on the end of a defeat set in.

The fans just want to hear that whistle to get this game underway now.

  • First for history between sides

Tonight's game will mark the first time in history that the Three Lions have faced a fellow British nation in the World Cup.

There will be no love lost between the two sides as they prepare to meet for the 104th time.

England have won the last six games in a row.

  • Three Lions charge starts now

England have the chance this evening to get their World Cup campaign up and running in style.

After hammering Iran 6-2, morale dropped with the 0-0 stalemate against the USA and left fans feeling it was a false dawn once again.

Southgate's side can make a statement this evening and come into form just at the right time as they head into the knockout rounds of the tournament.

  • Dream big little one

There is plenty of red all around the ground as the Welsh fans seemingly flocked to Qatar in their droves for this game.

Fans of all ages hope to see something that will live on in the history of Welsh football and the memories of their fans, young and old.

Gareth Bale has the hopes of a nation on his shoulders once again tonight.

  • Play it again Sam

The last time these two teams met in a major tournament came six years ago.

Former Liverpool and Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge scored as Roy Hodgson's England came from behind to beat Wales 2-1.

Harry Kane will be looking for his first goal from open play in an England shirt in 2022 this evening.

  • Huge ask for Page's Dragons

Wales will have to do something they haven't managed for almost 30 years in order to progress, beat England.

In a rivalry that dates back to 1879, Wales have only beaten their rivals from across the River Severn 14 times in 103 meetings.

England have beaten Wales 68 times, lost 14 and 21 games have ended in a draw.

  • Players ponder the task ahead

The players talk a walk around the pitch as they go through their final preparations for the game.

Some look lost in thoughts of what could have been, others look relaxed and ready for the task at hand.

  • England subs:

    7. Grealish, 10. Sterling, 12. Trippier, 13. Pope, 14. Phillips, 15. Dier, 16. Coady, 17. Saka, 18. Alexander-Arnold, 19. Mount, 23. Ramsdale, 24. Wilson, 25. Maddison, 26. Gallagher

  • England starting XI:

Kyle Walker, Jordan Henderson, Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford all come into the starting line-up for this crunch clash this evening.

    1. Pickford, 2. Walker, 3. Shaw, 4. Rice, 5. Stones, 6.Maguire, 8. Henderson, 9. Kane, 11. Rashford, 20. Foden, 22, Bellingham

  • Wales subs:

    21. A Davies, 2. Gunter, 8. Wilson, 9. B Johnson, 14. Roberts, 16. Morrell, 17. Lockyer, 18. J Williams, 19. Harris, 22. S Thomas, 23. Levitt, 24. Cabango, 25. Colwill, 26. M Smith

  • Wales starting XI:

With keeper Wayne Hennessey serving a suspension, Danny Ward starts in goal while Joe Allen returns to the starting line-up.

    12. Ward, 4. Davies, 6. Rodon, 5. Mepham, 3. Williams, 15. Ampadu, 7. Allen, 10. Ramsey, 20. James, 11. Bale, 13. Moore

  • Welsh fans invade Al Rayyan

As the ground starts to fill up, you can see the Welsh fans from every part of the stadium with their bright colours.

They will be looking to make themselves heard and drown out their English counterparts this evening.

Daring to dream of a Welsh win tonight.

  • One more win to dream again

England fans will look upon tonight's game as the springboard to get their World Cup 2022 campaign up and running.

It is important to hit form at the right time to stand any chance of winning a major tournament.

Victory this evening, and a convincing performance, will let the fans begin to dream of seeing them get their hands on the coveted trophy.

  • England legend feels for Foden

Former England midfielder and manager Glenn Hoddle has spoken about his thoughts on Phil Foden with Betfair:

"This kid has abilitiy and I have sympathy for him."

“We're seeing it with Jamal Musiala for Germany, and the two kids for Spain, Pedri and Gavi.

“Foden is way ahead of them, but he's not playing and isn't being given the opportunity like they are."

“The way Spain are using their young talents is what we should be doing with Foden. They play them, they know how good they're going to be in the future.

“They're 20 and 18, but Foden was at their level when he was 17. He should have had 50 caps by now."

It's a crying shame, because I feel like he's a special player. He's a cut above Grealish, Mount and Maddison

  • Lions of Teranga for victory

England will go in tonight's game focussed on nothing else but victory and three points will mean finishing top of the Group B table.

After their 2-1 win over Ecuador, Senegal now await the Group B winners in the 'round of 16'.

Gareth Southgate's men need to focus on the points this evening before they can start planning for Aliou Cissé's side.

  • Fans begin to arrive at the ground

Wales and England fans flock to the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium for the game they have all been waiting for since the draw for the group stage took place.

Fans of both teams enjoying the big night together.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Russell, fiancée of Welsh striker Kieffer Moore shows her allegiances this evening.

  • Play the game, not the occasion

Gareth Southgate and Rob Page will both have to drum this home to their players to have any hope of winning this evening.

The hype of the 'Battle of Britain' tag, playing friends from back home, how much it means to the fans.

It is all too easy to get wrapped up in all of this and take you focus of your tactics, the game at hand and what is needed.

  • Massive change needed from Welsh

Even with 11 players on the pitch against Iran, Wales never looked like scoring, with Page describing his side's pre-red card performance as 'not acceptable'.

This has taken the Dragons' winless streak in all competitions to seven matches.

Wales will take some encouragement from England's similarly dismal showing against the USA.

  • Bringing buckets to sands of Qatar

The Welsh football fans are really bringing a new wave of fashion to the streets of Qatar with the bucket hat.

Page's team has seen the headgear become some associated with his team that there is even a monument to one here in Qatar.

There is also another in Cardiff.

  • Are you having a laugh?

Ex-England goalkeeper David James was speaking to Genting Casino when he said how he he thinks Gareth Bale is having a laugh when he says that Wales have more passion than England:

"I think Bale is having a laugh when he says Wales have more passion than England. I think I have Welsh blood in me as well, long distance, and the way they were singing the anthem you can clearly see there’s a lot of passion. I have a lot of Welsh friends so I know how they feel."

"But we show it in a different way, we’re English and as players we’re not going to lose our cool. There’s a lot of expectation of England as well, and this is the difference. The expectation is you have to go out there and win, and if you’re showing too much passion beforehand a lot of people would see that as arrogance rather than passion."

"Wales are in their first World Cup in 50-odd years, they are going to show it in a different way. But I would not believe, one bit, that first of all Bale believes that, or if he does that he’s correct."

  • Preparations continue for showdown

The Ahmad bin Ali Stadium shows its true colours for this evening as it is emblazoned with the flags of the competing teams.

This is a real tie to make any football fans salivate at the thought of.

Millions around the world will be tuning in for the 'Battle of Britain' as the United Kingdom's only representatives in Qatar go head to head.
