Foreign Minister Liz Truss looks poised to win the Conservative leadership contest. A Sky News poll trails former Prime Minister Sunak by a staggering 32 percent.But she's better than Boris Johnson.
For some Conservatives, if Truss breaks the law and causes less outrage than her predecessors, she will succeed. But with prices projected to risefaster than they have since World War II,voters will want more than just the Margaret Thatcher roleplay they've seen so far.
Despite his many faults, Boris Johnson's political strength has been a testament to his own personal brand and the need for the party to win elections. Born from the ability to shapeshift into any stance you can take. This has allowed him to secure the majority and implement policies that others have failed, such as Brexit and a draconian anti-immigration policy.
By contrast, Truss said this week that British workers need more graftsand an old policy document called for paying GP visits. I've had to plead with the public before - I'm talking about the women of the people, not the saltiest on earth.
