We're all there: You're browsing Netflix and are suddenly confronted with the trailer's blaring soundtrack.
US streaming giant flicks feeds to automatically play content trailers to get a taste of what it has to offer.
But while it helps you make choices, this feature (which is on by default) is one of Netflix's most contentious features.
Fans regularly take to social media lamenting autoplay trailers, annoying and unnecessary I'm deciding.
If you're sick of looking at it, you're in luck. As of February 2020, Netflix allows you to turn off autoplay for trailers.
How to turn off Netflix preview trailers on your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet
First, open the Netflix app on your iOS or Android device. From the home screen, tap your profile icon or more (three horizontal lines).
Tap Manage Profiles and select the profile you want to edit.
Toggle the switch next to Autoplay preview to turn the setting on or off. Tap Done.
Trailers no longer autoplay when viewing feeds on devices.
You can re-enable it by following the steps above again.
How to turn off Netflix preview trailers on all other devices
Open Netflix on your preferred desktop browser. Click the account icon in the upper right corner.
Click Manage Profiles to select the profile you want to use. Then uncheck the box that says "Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices".
Save this change and then click Profile.
Hovering over the option will also automatically stop the trailer from playing.
If you want to re-enable this feature, follow the steps above.
Right above the preview feature, you'll also see an option to turn off autoplay for the next episode.
This is useful if you don't like bingeing and want to slow down and watch the series.
Some versions of Netflix have a settings toggle in the top right corner that allows you to quickly turn previews on or off.
Click the three horizontal lines next to your account icon to see your options.
