Young Scottish mother dies weeks after giving birth, husband pays tribute to 'best friend'

A young Scottish mother who 'made the world a better place' has died just six weeks after giving birth tofirst child.

A tribute was paid to Shannon, 29, after suffering a stroke in Australia earlier this month. A native of Dalkeith, Midlothian, Shannon was living on the Gold Coast with her husband Scott when tragedy struck on August 5th. She died just three days later. Six weeks ago, the young couple had just celebrated the birth of her daughter Harlow.

Following the devastating news, loved ones are taking to social media to pay tribute to their tragic mother.

In a moving tribute to his late wife on her Facebook, Scott said: Her angel wings.

"Shannon is the most wonderful person I have ever met. She is my best friend, wife and mother of a beautiful daughter.

30} "She made this world a better place. It comforts me to know how much positive impact she has made on the lives of people around the world.

"I am in awe. Even after all the wonderful things we have been able to do together, and all that she has gone through, I remember every moment like her last."

"Darling, I am eternally grateful that you have chosen to spend your life with me. Harlow." I promise to take care of you and give her the life you wanted.Darling, I love you so much.Forever 29.”

She is said to be a "selfless" individual who spent Christmas feeding the homeless and cutting hair for victims of domestic violence.

Shannon's sister, Abby Watson, also sent her heartfelt compliments on Facebook, writing: "I am the proudest sister in the world.

"She really had a heart of gold. She loved her life and her family more than anyone I know.

"I have been thinking a lot in the last few days of your life about us and how honored I was to be a part of it. Shannon and I know she was the most loved partner and mom in this world.

"Everyone I've talked to has said that Shannon is living a dream.

"Thank you to everyone who has reached out to my family during this time. I really appreciate it.
