Traffic arrangements for today’s clash in Clones

Due to the All Ireland SFC Round 2 Qualifier of Armagh v Donegal at St. Tiernach’s Park, Clones tomorrow at 4pm there will be a number of road closures in place in and around the town.

All road closures will be in place from 1.30pm until after the match.

– Fermanagh Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
– Churchill to Millbrook (save for local access )
– River lane and Roslea Road will be restricted too match traffic only.

Gardaí ask all supporters to arrive early, to park in the designated car parks and to park legally and responsibly, at all times. Please be respectful to the needs of local residents.

Please note that no vehicles will be permitted to leave O’Neill Park for for a period of time after the final whistle. This is to facilitate the safe passage of pedestrians from St. Tiernach’s Park.

Gardaí also request that HGVs if travelling tomorrow from Cavan to Monaghan or vice versa avoid the N54 and travel via Cootehill.

The town and surrounding roads will experience large volumes off traffic and anybody considering travelling through the town of Clones is advised to consider an alternative route to there destination.

Members of an Garda Siochana will be on hand to assist with traffic flow.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Please allow plenty of time for your journey.

“An Garda Siochana wish everyone attending tomorrow a safe and enjoyable day and we thank you for your cooperation and patience.”

Any Donegal supporters travelling to Clones via Roslea on Sunday for the match between Donegal and Armagh please note that the Fermanagh Fleadh will be taking place in the town and there is a traffic management plan in place between 3 pm and 4 pm.
