Four people were killed across Israel and the West Bank in three deadly traffic accidents on Friday.
A 60-year-old electric bike rider died after being hit by a bus in the central town of Mazkeret Batya. First responders found the man trapped underneath the bus and sought to carry out resuscitation efforts before being forced to pronounce his death at the scene.
Police opened an investigation into the incident and detained the bus driver for questioning.
At roughly the same time, a woman in her 50s was killed in another car accident involving three vehicles on Route 44, near the central town of Karmei Yosef.
She had been evacuated in critical condition to the Shamir Medical Center where doctors pronounced her dead.

A woman in her 60s was critically injured in the crash, and two men aged 64 and 30 were moderately injured.
Earlier Friday, two men in their 40s were killed after they were run over by a vehicle in a tunnel on the West Bank’s Route 60 highway, near the Har Gilo settlement.

They were found with significant injuries and pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
Police identified them as construction workers who may have been on their way to a nearby construction site.
An investigation has been opened into the incident, police said.
Route 60 stretches from Beersheba in the south to Nazareth in the north, and much of it runs through the West Bank. The route, much of which hasn’t been updated in years, is one of the deadliest in the country.
According to the Road Safety Authority’s latest figures, 318 people have been killed in crashes on Israel’s roads since the start of 2022, a slight decrease compared to last year.
