A motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning in a collision with a private vehicle on Route 531 near Herzliya in central Israel.
The rider, identified as a 45-year-old man, was found trapped underneath the vehicle involved in the accident.
First responders pronounced his death at the scene.
Police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
Israel was ranked last in a recent European road safety report comparing regional countries based on their ability to reduce annual road deaths over the past decade.

According to the report, European countries on average were successfully able to reduce traffic deaths by 31 percent between 2011 and 2021, while Israel saw only a 4.7% drop over that period.
Outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid, whose sister Michal was killed in a traffic accident in 1984, said last month that Israel must improve road safety.
According to data released by the Or Yarok road safety lobby group earlier this month, there were 293 people killed on Israel’s roads since the start of 2022.
