120 New Accusers Come Forward Against Sean Combs in Sexual Misconduct Case
Attorney Tony Buzbee announces representation of 120 individuals alleging sexual misconduct against Sean "Diddy" Combs. Combs' legal team denies all claims as the music mogul faces federal charges.
Attorney Tony Buzbee has announced his representation of 120 individuals alleging sexual misconduct against Sean "Diddy" Combs, the renowned hip-hop mogul. This development adds to the legal challenges faced by Combs, who is currently awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Buzbee detailed that the accusers comprise an equal number of males and females, with 25 reportedly being minors at the time of the alleged incidents. The attorney anticipates filing lawsuits within the next month.
In response to these allegations, Combs' legal representative, Erica Wolff, issued a statement refuting the claims:
"Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court if and when claims are filed and served, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation."
Combs, 54, has been in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since September 17, 2024, when he pleaded not guilty to federal charges. The accusations allege that he utilized his "power and prestige" to coerce female victims into participating in drug-influenced sexual performances with male sex workers, events reportedly termed "Freak Offs."
The music executive, born on November 4, 1969, has had a significant impact on the hip-hop industry. Combs founded Bad Boy Records in 1993, which became one of the most successful hip-hop record labels. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous artists across various genres and won three Grammy Awards.
Beyond music, Combs has ventured into various business endeavors. He launched the clothing line Sean John in 1998, which grew into a billion-dollar company. In 2007, he partnered with Diageo to launch the vodka brand Cîroc, followed by the tequila brand DeLeón in 2014. Combs also founded Revolt TV, a music-oriented digital cable television network, in 2013, though he sold his stake in June 2024.
Combs' influence extends to entertainment and philanthropy. He has appeared in films such as "Monster's Ball" and "Get Him to the Greek," and even starred in a Broadway revival of "A Raisin in the Sun" in 2004. His philanthropic efforts have focused on education initiatives.
As the legal proceedings unfold, Combs' estimated net worth of over $900 million as of 2024 and his status as one of the richest hip-hop artists may be affected. The music mogul, who has changed his stage name multiple times throughout his career, now faces a challenging period as he attempts to clear his name amidst serious allegations.
The case continues to develop, with both the prosecution and defense preparing for a trial that will likely attract significant public attention given Combs' prominence in the entertainment industry.
