These expenses included spa treatments, room service, and personal purchases, which the commission deemed unreasonable.

Furthermore, the inquiry uncovered unauthorized consultancy fees paid to trustee Bianka Hellmich, amounting to over 290,000 pounds (approximately $389,500). This misuse of funds highlights the importance of proper financial oversight in charitable organizations.

The Charity Commission, established by the Charities Act 2006, also found that Fashion for Relief had failed to manage its partnerships effectively. As a result of the investigation, the commission recovered about 344,000 pounds and protected nearly 98,000 pounds to settle these outstanding payments.
