The Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) executive committee will wait until Friday morning to render a verdict on whether the next round of Championship Division matches will play as scheduled.
However, if the skies continue to hold, then it is expected that school football will resume tomorrow in three of the five zones.

Defending East Zone champions Arima North Secondary host Five Rivers Secondary from 3.40pm on Friday at their Arima Old Road school ground while North leaders St Mary’s College welcome second place Trinity College Moka to Serpentine Road in a key match-up.
St Mary’s College, who are undefeated this season, are five points clear of Trinity Moka and a win for the “Saints” will leave them just two points shy of the crown and a place in the Big 5—where they will compete for three available spots in the 2023 Premier Division competition.
Arima North are also yet to taste defeat in 2022 and have a five point lead on second place El Dorado East Secondary. However, a draw between the two schools on Tuesday keeps the East Zone trophy up for grabs.

In the South Zone, leaders Siparia West Secondary are also at home, as they host third place Ste Madeleine Secondary. Siparia are eight points clear of the pack and will secure the title and a place in the Big 5 competition with a win.
The Central Zone’s games this week are postponed—due to a Covid-19 scare between the teams of Presentation College (Chaguanas) and Couva East Secondary—while the Tobago fixtures are played on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
At present, Presentation (Chaguanas) and Bishop’s High School lead the standings in Central and Tobago respectively. Presentation are three points clear of Miracle Ministries while Bishop’s lead Scarborough Secondary by a single point.

In the Premier Division, there is one fixture change as Chaguanas North Secondary’s crucial Group B clash with fellow newly promoted school Moruga Secondary moves from QRC ground to African Grounds in Enterprise from 3.30pm on Saturday.
Moruga, who are bottom of the table, will be relegated if they lose while a win or draw offers them the chance of a playoff scrap for survival. A win for Chaguanas North means they would avoid automatic relegation and would be one point shy of safety too, with their final league match away to Trinity College East on Saturday 15 October.
At present, Trinity East (six points), East Mucurapo Secondary (six points), Malick Secondary (four points), Chaguanas North (four points) and Moruga (one point) are all in danger of dropping back to the Championship Division.
