Actress and media mogul, Connie Ferguson, took to her Instagram account to commemorate what would have been she and her late husband, Shona Ferguson’s twentieth wedding anniversary today.
The former The Queen actor and producer, Shona Ferguson, passed away four months from COVID-19.
CONNIE AND SHONA FERGUSON’S LOVE STORY
Connie and Shona Ferguson met on 31 July 2001 and got married at the end of that year. They would have celebrated their 20th anniversary today November (30 November) if Shona Ferguson was still alive.
Shona Ferguson passed away on Friday, 30 July from COVID-19 complications and was buried the next month (August).
Their love story inspired many as they loved each other privately and publicly and built an empire together.
They were Mzansi’s couple goals as they worked out together, worked, danced, travelled, and prayed together.
The thespian posted a picture of their wedding day 20 years ago and penned a short and sweet message to her late husband which read:
“This day 20 years ago.️ 4 months without you Sho. Today I’m not okay.”

LESEDI MUTSUENYANE-FERGUSON REMEMBERS SHONA
Shona’s oldest daughter, Lesedi Mutsuenyane-Ferguson, also paid tribute to the late actor today (30 November) on her Instagram account.
She posted a picture of herself at the recent (27 November) GQ Awards where she accepted her late father’s award, Editor’s Special Tribute.
The mother of one said she at times feels like she left too many things unsaid the more time that passes.
She says she also questions if she made Shona proud when he was still alive and if she’s making him proud now.
“It’s not just 4 months since we lost you. It’s also your 20th anniversary with Ma @connie_ferguson.”
“I cannot imagine how bittersweet today is and I’m honestly heartbroken just thinking about it.”
“Please be with her today. She misses you more than words can describe. We all do.”
