The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo says a man is expected to appear in court for the savage rape and murder of a six-year-old girl on Monday, 6 December 2021. The 28-year-old is believed to have carried out the attack on the innocent little girl on Friday, 3 December in Dark City, Praktiseer outside Burgersfort.
“It is alleged that the deceased was playing with other children in the neighbourhood when her mother noticed that she had disappeared and started to seach for her, with assistance of the community. The Police were called and proceeded with the search operation. The child’s body was then discovered dumped in a neighbour’s yard,” said SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

Limpopo’s Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the police for their prompt response that led to the arrest of the suspect within hours after he allegedly committed this horrendous crime.
“The Police immediately commenced with the manhunt for the suspect who was said to be residing in the same street as the victim. He was found hiding in one of the neighbour’s yard and immediately arrested. Police Preliminary investigations conducted at scene suggest that the victim was raped before she was killed”SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo
Meanwhile in the Free State, 50-year-old man was arrested in Rammolutsi, Viljoenskroon for allegedly raping his 14-year-old step granddaughter.
“His arrest came after the 14-year-old victim finally gathered the strength to inform her grandmother about her ordeal at the hands of her grandfather. The victim alleged that the first incident occurred on August 2020 when she was at home watching TV in the absence of her grandmother. She further alleged, that she was only with her step grandfather in the house when he pulled her on the couch in the sitting room and raped her without a condom,” said spokesperson Captain Malebo Khosana.
