In todays afternoon a knife attack shook Beijings Haidian district when five people got hurt near a top-rated school. The attack happened round 3:20 pm local time at the cross-roads of Wanquanzhuang and Wanliu Zhong roads
The suspect Tang (age 50) targeted random passers-by‚ hurting three school-age kids and two grown-ups; police quickly caught him at the scene. All hurt people got quick help at nearby hospitals — doctors say their wounds arent life-threatening
The attack spot sits next to the well-known Zhongguancun No3 Primary School (one of the citys best educational places). Some social-media posts talk about it happening right by school gates; but police havent said yes or no to these claims yet
This event adds to a list of similar knife attacks in big Chinese cities which makes people think twice about safety in public spots. The timing isnt good for China as its trying to bring in more foreign visitors after covid times: such events might affect how safe tourists feel here — just like that sad case with a Japanese student in Shenzhen not long ago
