Yesterday‚ China told India to be careful about Taiwan stuff. This happened cause Taiwan just opened a new office in Mumbai (its the third one in India)
China doesnt like it when countries it talks to do official things with Taiwan. Mao Ning‚ who speaks for Chinas foreign ministry said this at a regular meeting with reporters. The new Taiwan office opened on 10/16/24 — its joining the ones already in New Delhi and Chennai
This is happening while China and India are trying to fix some problems they have about their border in the Himalayas. That border stuff has made things tough between them for a while
China thinks Taiwan is part of it‚ but Taiwan doesnt agree. A few days ago‚ China did some war practice around Taiwan again
China has told India were not happy about this
Mao also said that the one-China idea is a big deal for China and India being friends. She wants India to be really careful about Taiwan stuff‚ follow what it promised‚ and not do any official things with Taiwan
China thinks its the only one who can talk for Taiwan to other countries but Taiwan doesnt like that idea. The whole thing is making things a bit tricky for India and China right now
