The African Development Bank made a big-money move in north Africa signing a 350-million euro deal with Morocco (which equals roughly 370-mln dollars at todays exchange rate). During the Africa Investment Forum in Rabat Akinwumi Adesina the banks chief announced their plans to put money into several key-projects
The current funding package aims to fix three main things: making the economy work better getting more water to people and building up an industrial area near the Nador West Med port. The bank dont just stop there - its looking at throwing in another 650-million euros to get Morocco ready for the big gameʼs
The extra cash would help Morocco prep for co-hosting the 2030 World Cup with Spain and Portugal; focusing on trains and airports thatʼll need major upgrades. The bank thinks ahead - theres about 6 years left until kick-off which gives enough time to build everything needed
