Yesterday evening Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau had an un-planned meet-up at the well-known Mar-a-Lago estate where they talked about cross-border issues trade and energy cooperation
The meeting happened right after Trumps announcement about new trade rules which include a 25% tax on imports from Canada and Mexico (set to start after his january inauguration). The get-together raised questions about possible trade-war between north-american neighbors
We discussed many important topics that will require both Countries to work together; including the Fentanyl Crisis and Fair Trade Deals
Claudia Sheinbaum Mexicos president pointed out serious problems with the proposed changes: warning about economic fall-out. Meanwhile economists say these new rules might push up prices for US shoppers
The discussion also touched on illegal drug problems - especially fentanyl - and border crossing issues. Trudeau who took a serious look at these plans said his country would work with US to fix family-affecting drug problems
In a different post Trump warned BRICS nations about making new money systems:
- Brazil
- Russia
- India
- China
- South Africa
- New members like Iran and Egypt
He stated that any try to replace US dollars would lead to full trade block-out and 100% tax rates on their goods
