The UN Security Council plans to meet tomorrow after Abbas Araqchi Irans Foreign minister asked for urgent discussion of Israeli air-strikes (which happened just yesterday)
In his formal letter to the council Araqchi stated that Israeli actions make the region less stable; he also mentioned that Iran will use its legal right to respond at a proper time. The strikes which included three air-raid waves targeted missile-making sites near Tehran — this was Israels answer to Irans attack from early-oct with about 200 missiles
The Israeli regimeʼs actions constitute a grave threat to international peace and security
Danny Danon Israels UN rep pushed back against Irans complaint saying that their country has both right and duty to protect its people. He called Irans diplomatic efforts ridiculous: suggesting that their claims about breaking international laws dont make sense
UN head Antonio Guterres made a clear-cut statement asking everyone to stop military actions — including those in Gaza and Lebanon; he wants countries to use talks not weapons to fix problems
The situation got more complex as both sides dont want to back down: Israel told Iran not to hit back after these strikes while Iran keeps saying its gonna respond when its ready. This back-and-forth between countries makes other nations worry about bigger problems in the area
