In a late-night strike on 11/26‚ Russian forces targeted Ternopil causing major power-grid problems in this western-Ukrainian city. Serhiy Nadal‚ the regions defence chief says water heat and electricity got cut off from many areas
The city (located just 134 miles from Poland) quickly switched to backup plans: regular buses replaced e-transport; key buildings like schools nʼ hospitals got power generators. Emergency teams worked non-stop to fix water supply issues by early morning but power problems gonna take more time to solve
The attack hit the city which had bout quarter-million people before the war started; its now dealing with infrastructure damage thats still being checked. Ukrainian air-raid alerts were active for hours in most regions including areas near NATO borders
Meanwhile Serhiy Popko from Kyivʼs administration reported that capitalʼs defence systems worked well:
- All incoming drones got shot down
- Different attack waves came from various directions
- No damage or injuries happened in the city
The air-defence units managed to destroy more than 10 enemy drones that tried to reach Kyiv in several waves. The attacks came from multiple directions but citys protection systems proved effective
