During the period 5-8 August, the Police carried out 104 checks in the areas of Protaras and Agia Napa.
As the spokesman of the Famagusta Police Directorate said, during the operations, 125 people were checked. There were 35 charges for illegal employment, illegal work, illegal stay, operation of establishment without license, without license to sell alcohol, violation of working hours, illegal possession of drugs and others.
There were also 129 additional charges for traffic violations, 13 of which had to do with driving under the influence of alcohol. Furthermore, one Cypriot and one third-country national were arrested for illegal possession of drugs.
The coordinated operation will continue during the whole tourist period.
